To work at Decision News Media you will have to enjoy being in a fast-changing environment because we constantly invent and create new products and processes.

So we look to recruit talented and energetic individuals in an open organisation. We offer the most exciting challenges and opportunities for personal development, and devote significant resources to training programmes.

Today we are recruiting in the following areas:

EDITORIAL – Reporter
Closing date: 27/02/09

Decision News Media is looking for an enthusiastic journalist to work on its leading website FoodProductionDaily.com initially for a period of six months maternity cover but with the prospect of permanent employment thereafter.

Dedicated to breaking top-quality, independent news and business insights directly to the desk-tops of key decision-makers, FoodProductionDaily.com covers the fast-moving fields of food processing, packaging and safety. The site’s last independent audit registered more than 84,500 unique visitors a month.

The successful candidate will be a talented, new journalist, or have an ambition to become one, and share our dedication to delivering independent breaking news. You will need strong journalistic skills, or the ability to acquire them quickly, analytical focus and a hunger to become a top-performing multi-media journalist adept at reporting online and via videos and audio podcasts.

Our journalists produce sharp, tightly written, independent news articles and audio visual reports to exacting deadlines – so you must work well under pressure and relish challenges.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of the food processing or packaging industries or those with a technical or an engineering background.

A formal qualification in journalism is less important than a genuine desire to report on food processing, packaging and health topics for an international audience.

In return, we offer the opportunity to develop your career in journalism by working with our young, dedicated and talented team of journalists based in Montpellier in the South of France. They will help you build the skills and experience you need to take your career to the next level.

Initially, the appointment will be for six months but with the likelihood of full time employment, depending on performance, after that period.

If you would like to join our cutting-edge team, please email a covering letter, explaining what you have to offer, a CV and relevant cuttings to Alternatively, telephone me (0033 4 99 52 24 52), in confidence, to discuss your suitability for this role. Only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
